When Facebook asks for a moss wall, it’s only natural that we’d share it—they are, after all, the premier social media platform.
When the company needed decor for an internal in-office promotion to inspire workers to “level up” their work, we customized our standard moss wall rental to fit the occasion. As you can see, this type of living wall installation makes a great photo backdrop for events of any size.
During the event, people from other departments, including Instagram, dropped by to take photos with the wall. One good thing led to another, and shortly after we were approached to create a large-scale piece for the upcoming Wearable Art Gala on June 1 at the WACO Theater in Los Angeles. We sketched out a wall that included a back-lit Lion King head to honor the theme of the gala, “A Journey to the Pride Lands” brought to life by Tina Knowles-Lawson and inspired by Disney’s CGI remake of “The Lion King,” in which Beyoncé stars as Nala.
During construction of this spectacularly large wall, which measured in at 11 feet tall by 50 feet long, we received a call just two days before the event with some unexpected information. Beyoncé would be attending the event, and we would need to build in a quick exit (sometimes known as a Judith sheet) for the star to duck out after posing for photos on the red carpet. Not ones to back down from a challenge, we quickly formulated a plan to add another 12 feet of wall length, a secret exit and another movie quote—just in time for delivery!
Overall, this piece was a fun, challenging and exciting project to create. TrueVert® was proud and honored to provide a unique moss wall art creation for the star-studded event that is an artistic endeavor in its own right.
